Two crime writers and one researcher will talk about their craft and their methods. Stephen G. Hoffius, co-author of “Upheaval in Charleston: Earthquake and Murder on the Eve of Jim Crow,” will discuss reconstructing historical true crime. Mark I. Pinsky, author of “Met Her on the Mountain: The Murder of Nancy Morgan” and “Drifting into Darkness: Murder, Madness, Suicide and a Death Under Suspicious Circumstances,” will talk about contemporary true crime writing.
